Exhibit 2.t: Effective use of technology
Title of Exhibit
Effectively Teaching with Technology in the Classroom
Domain Outcome #(2.0)
Candidates are proficient in the knowledge, dispositions, and skills needed for effective teaching; effective teaching results in successful student learning.
M.Ed. Domain Indicator #(2.t)
The candidate makes effective use of technology in classroom instruction.
Rationale
I demonstrate proficiency in the knowledge, dispositions, and skills needed for effective teaching by using technology like the SmartBoard presentation system, incorporating Microsoft Office products and the Internet into a concept attainment lesson plan. Faryadi (2006) makes the case that teachers who use technology properly in the classroom help promote greater cognitive abilities in students.
Self-Evaluation and Reflection
Students respond enthusiastically to the use of technology in the classroom. Using the SmartBoard, I am able to quickly manipulate graphic objects to teach a concept attainment lesson regarding metaphor. This method holds student attention effectively, providing a more visual component, rather than simply verbal or written examples of content.
How verified
