Rationale

I demonstrate proficiency in creating professional partnerships to create learning opportunities by improving student learning through the use of a webquest and providing additional Internet resources to students for their research. Providing students the opportunity to communicate online is important. Ipkeze and Boyd (2007) describe using the Internet as a means for students to learn how to evaluate resources, retrieve information and collaborate with their peers.

Self-Evaluation and Reflection
I have found this exercise to be challenging but fun for students, as they learn to discern between fact and opinion. Webquests can be difficult when they are not updated well. However, I have found that students need only a little encouragement and guidance to strike off on their own and find additional resources. This exercise helps bring the time period to life and connect it with concrete physical locations, through cyberspace, at least!
